A spline is a smooth curve that passes through or near a set of points that influence the shape of the curve. The spline can be used to create the form lines, the disc cam contour lines and the boundary of the part profile, etc in topographic map.
The splines in autocad and ZWCAD+:
Ribbon: Home » Draw » Spline
1) Command: spline
Execute the spline command
2) Specify first point or [Object]:
Specify the first point
3) Specify next point or [Close/Fit tolerance] <star tangent>:
Specify point 2 and point 6 on the spline
4) Specify start tangent
Click OK of the right mouse button
5) Specify end tangent
Press the right mouse button, finish drawing spline (e.g. picture 1)
Picture 1: spline
Close: close the spline curve by connecting the first point with the last point.
Fit Tolerance: set the deviation value for the current spline. The greater the Fit Tolerance is ,the smoother the curve will be.
Start tangent: specify a tangent condition on the starting point of the spline
End tangent: specify a tangent condition on the ending point of the spline.
