ZW3D 2011 - Slow to close un saved files?

When I open a file and decide to close it without saving edits - maybe I haven't even done anything, there is a dialogue asking if I want to Save Edits. When I answer NO, the immediate response is for the command bar to show Saving Edits and a percentage saved indicator and I have to wait until it is finished before doing anything.
It appears to be doing the opposite to what it is instructed.

Can you please explain why this takes place and what is happening ?

Hi Colin, this applies to all files. I don't not even have to [open a part for editing. Just having a file open at object level will cause the process to occur when I close it.
Having session management on or off makes no difference.
The Saving Edits process appears to take place regardless of my choices.

I am sure I am not the only one to experience this.

Hi, mudcrab

I create a new or open the existing file, it works correctly. I appreciate that if you could send any specified file for me to duplicate the problem.

Best regards
