<title>What industry to you work in?</title>
<link>http://www.zwsoft.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=335</link>
<description>Just a 'ice breaker' thread. The typical--&quot;how long have you used VX&quot;, &quot;general CAD experience&quot;, &quot;what industry are you in&quot;--introduce yourself kind of stuff. Don't leave me hangin' here alone guys and gals...

<description>15 years CAD. AutoCAD and Cadkey in the beginning. Some Solid Works, Inventor, surfcam along the way.

Started using VX &quot;classic&quot; in 1992 (Varimetrix version 2.5, I think). Switched to VX vision in 1998.

Much rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, CNC programming

Tool/Mold/Fixture design, mostly in cast and formed metal. More recently designing video game machines and other consumer products.

Also used VX for programming CMM's and inspection data analysis.

<description>Yacht design and construction for the last five years. I just started using VX, having used Solidworks in the past. I continue to use Multisurf to generate and analyze hull shapes, but I am liking VX capabilities for producing complicated deck surfaces which can become tedious in Multisurf (still a program that I love). </description>

Some Surfcam, MasterCam, Solidworks, and still using PowerShape, and now VX as of last week.

Still gonna use Delcam's Electrode wizard, till VX adds similar/better documentation( I know ya can!!!) &lt;img src=&quot;i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif&quot; border=&quot;0&quot;&gt;

<description>Maccam, welcome to VX! I think you will find the software to be a lot friendlier than Pro-E. Will take you a while to get used to it, but you will never look back (and probably never want to use any other CAD system).
