What is the problem exactly? There are two figures in the drawing, and I suppose one is correct while the other has problems. If it is the case, would you please let us know what steps you took to obtain the result with problems? Thanks.

I think it's obvious! his offset went wrong - from some reasons. Right hand: the offset is ok (or this is the correct final drawing he should get) and left hand is an offset that went wrong.

I suppose I get what you mean. In your drawing, after you deleted the left horizontal segment and reconstructed to polyline, OFFSET works. But things went wrong with the existance of the left horizontal segment. The problem you confronted also happens to us. We will try to solve it. Thank you.

I tried today the offset in zwcad 2008i, and i had absolutely the same problem:
using a CLOSED 2d-polyline, i made an offset of it, and the produced, offseted polyline was missing one segment, an therefore was OPEN.
also, by offsetting an ellipse, I got a WRONG ellipse, that was not parallel to the first one.

I tested the offset problems again, also in zwcad 2008 (full version, not "i"), and in that version everything is working perfect, as far as I could remark.
