When i go to layout/paper the dots only appear on the vertices of my polylines. Any ideas why it wont place dots properly along the polylines like every other linetypes?

you could try to adjust the dot linetype setting,
Changed the ltscale of the object to 1 and it looks great x-refed into my other drawing
