Hi, Paul
Hi, karmo
In case that somebody read the thread, and want to know more information about translation, ZW3D includes the powerful translator for Solidworks, Pro/E, NX, Catia, Parasolid, Step, IGS, STL, ACIS file import, as well as kinds of export capability to igs, parasolid, etc
If there is any file missing to be qualified with specified software like AlphaCAM or Solidworks, could you please send part of the files for us to analyze, which will be very helpful to fix them. By the way, for V17, we are working to enhance the translator, more files will be help us to build it better and better.
Best regards
Colin

Hi, karmo291794
We are working to enhance the import capability in V17, I have tried to import it and saved it to igs file. As I don't have AlphaCAM, could you please kindly check if the attached file is not well recognized by your AlphaCAM.
Best regards
Colin

ZW's reply shows a lack of understanding.
ZW cannot export to Solid works only import.
We are unabe to now export using step which is very iconvenient to our customers.
ZW's support is very poor has been very poor on this issue as wehave stil not received a reply.

Hi, Paul
Thanks for your advice. I don't want to suspect the other CAD/CAM software, but ZW3D is unique and powerful, we can provide the powerful translator to import the files from other CAD/CAM, and it is possible to export to parasolid file, step file for other CAD/CAM software. We are trying to make the product more and more powerful, but not only the translator. What I agree with you is that we can continue to enhance the software, but not try to be the most powerful translator in the world.
We are working with our partners to provide the qualified support to our customers, our valued reseller are doing the good job to the local market. If there is anything that you are not satisfied with the current support, I appreciate that if you could more information to zw3d@zwsoft.com, and then we can work with our partners to provide more support as you expected.
Best regards

I have found that exporting step files works the best for me. Mike Lynch taught me for an example. When a core pin is the same size as the hole any software will have trouble with the two surfaces. Also I have been instructed on using the heal tool on imports. One suggestion I have is on the tutorials please move the mouse slower to better fallow you. Orchids video on engraving the close up was presented great, but no sound. It is very hard to get along with out Mike Lynch, but I am trying.
