 beta testing question
28-01-2013 09:39 . pm | View his/her posts only
I tested VX beta for several years and only had one issue. My beta license ended before the released version was available.
I test by actually using the software not just test exercises. VX was fast to extend my license so I was able to continue with my work. My question is will the beta version license be active until the released version is available?

I will also wait tell I have a new mold to build. To me the test is put it to work and not worry about time running out. Also will the file be able to go back to 2012 sp2 if time ran out.

What feedback are you looking for on the Beta?
How long before you need that?
What format do you want the feed back in?
Why not make a number of licenses on offer to Beta responders?
Cheers

Dear chris, Mike and Paul,

1 Each PC will have a 30-day testing period for each annual version. That means you can have 30-day trial of ZW3D 2013 BETA.

2 For the users of the previous versions, you can install ZW3D 2013 Beta without any conflict with the old versions. All the annual versions work well respectively. Existing users of ZW3D are welcome to join the Beta testing.

3 We provide a feedback form about the beta testing. You may access to the form on http://www.zwsoft.com/products/zw3d2013beta/raffle.html Also there are a number of Free licenses for the testers ^_^

I hope the above answers can help.

Cheers

Wing

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your interesting in what's new in ZW3D 2013.
Yes, you are right, since we have a lot of CAM enhancements in our new versions.
And some of them are still being on working now, so some functions in the specs like the optimized operation, tangent extendtion toolpath ...are still can't be find in the beta2 version.
But we can check some useful function now, like the new cam tree manager, new tool manager, check for all part function, tangent contianments and so on.
It would be heful for us the improve our product if you could send us mroe detail feedbacks. ^-^
Thank you.

Best regards
Tony Tan

I would like the question answered. Will the beta version remain available until the released version is available so i do not loose any work?

Hi Chris,
I think you will be struggling to get that Chris. Beta is specifically NOT commercial - which is asking you to work for free. You approved that situation when you installed. Sorry buddy. Play only.

Re the feed back form. Just doesn't work for me. Too prescriptive. There are too many issues taking place to pop into a form.I will be assembly a document with screen shots and comments for stuff as I find it then send it in.

IMO - the real issues for users in this Beta is GUI.
So far it is unanimous that it isn't getting sweeter. There are serious issues already raised on the forum and that is only the tip of the iceberg.
2012 is sort OK but can be improved greatly. So far 2013 is not headed in that direction.
Cheers

Paul,

You realize it's going to take a massive effort to make an old Unix application (VX) a true modern Windows application (ZW3D) right?

Pretty sure all the user interface work is being done in China.

As Wing mentioned, it is 30 days trial available automatically, in case that it is not well activated, please use the following key to activate it as Premium version, which will be expired until March 31.

thank you Colin, this makes the testing actually productive. Playing never can replace actual work.
