"Layout Views" command - How do I select a view other than the standar

Hi,

I have a question about selecting a model for a sheet. Is there a way to choose a certain face or plane when creating a new view on a sheet, so the object can be orientated differently than it was drawn? I know it was no problem in other software I have used, but I can't find it in VX. I see that different views can be selected in the "Layout" area, but I don't want to use the standard views, I need a goofy angle off the XY plane to be my view on the sheet.

Thanks,
Steve

Yes, VX can do goofy angles, no problem! In Model Space, simply orientate the model view as you require. Then go to View, View Manager and name your model view. Now, back in 2D Layout, click on the standard view icon. The View drop-downlist now includes the model view name that you saved - simple!

In VX 10.01, you can also use a Sketch to create a Section view. Then, you can layout your Section in 2D using the Bent Section View.

You might also find the program IncMechanism to be handy. It can be used to animate an assembly mechanism and output a series of images for use as a Windows Slide Show etc.
