I have just tested the new download for VX v12.70Full (winrar) and unfortunately the server has some gremlins at work, the archive arrives corrupted. So, please hold-fire and wait for us to let you know when all is well.

v1270Full winzip archive is OK!

I started downloading the ZIP file, and figured I'd try the RAR file I started to download before I left last night about 8:00PM CST.
The RAR file works fine.

If Winrar did not complain about any of the files then yes, it should be OK. However if Winrar did report a file problem all is not well even if VX seems to install and run fine.

Winrar didn't complain at all.
Didn't try to install it.

I use IZARC and I have tested all the download files.
No problems with any of them.

I think there must have been storms out in the Atlantic Ocean last night.

It dowloaded and installed fine when we tried it.

Yes, I think that at the time I downloaded the Winrar version, it's upload had not been completed, hence the errors noted by Winrar on extraction. Or maybe the reason is that downloads fail on days ending in "y". I thought that it might be the case that the contents were corrupted from the outset, because I had already downloaded the Winrar archive from our internal server and got the same type of errors reported.

For those that are wondering why there are two archive versions, there are some good reasons. Winrar currently offers tighter compression (=smaller file = faster download) and it has a reputation for causing less hassle with your firewall. So, for most, Winrar is an automatic choice but some customers are more familiar with and perfer to use Winzip. As my latest download experienced proved, having a different file available as an option is a good idea
