 Display Edges

Here is one for the wish list. Selectable edge colors? Black or dark gray edges work very well in showing detail in complex assemblies. You can achieve this by changing the part color to black then in the assembly change the face color to another color then the edges will display black. It would be good if the edge color could be selected independently of the face color of the part.

Hello Gary

That is a good idea and indeed it is already in the PCR (Product Change Request) system for enhancement of VX.

Definately got my vote on that one! All my other 3D apps have this and I really miss it in VX. A further enhancement Chris (again one that is common) is to have more display icons so the user can click to switch display modes intsantly eg:

Wireframe
Hidden Line
Shaded
Shaded with Edges
Shaded with textures
Shaded with transaparency on or off (so transparent objects show opaque or transparent)
Zebra
Curvature
Draft

Could I also suggest a general enhancement for display and maybe other tools. If you right click a tool or icon you go straight to the tool or function preferences.

Eg. Right clicking the wireframe icon say would open the display settings dialogue allowing you to to change the display parameters such as wire colour, display back edges, wire thickness, isoparm density etc....

See the color tab in the Version 13 configuration. There are a lot of new selections.
"We got your black edges" by default.
