I have a customer who needs an inexpensive CAD package that will allow them to import IGES or STEP, perform some simple manipulation (rotation/translation and minor geometry repairs) then export in IGES or STEP for use on a CMM. Has anyone used VX Innovator? Is is capable of this type of work? What are its limitations?

They want to avoid a system where manipulation of imported geometry is difficult or impossible (like SolidWorks).
