 IGES header info

Does anyone know how to change the default settings for info that appears in the header of an IGES file exported from VX? I would like to write a macro that embeds certain info into the IGES header. Specifically, I need to create an electronic "paper trail" in which the source VX file name and date are stored in the IGES header during the export. This will enable us to automatically track the source of the iges file and help to conform to Boeing DPD (Digital Product Data) requirements on derivative data sets.

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve

There isn't a User-accessible way to do that (You could ask VX Corp for an enhancement). However, once the IGES file is created, you could code your macro to open it, add the file name and date to the first line (or overwrite the first line) and save. You can write up to 72 characters on the first line, take a look at one of your IGES files in a plain text editor. If that suits your requirement, no other lines in the file need to change, but if necessary you can add extra header lines ("S" lines), so long as you also edit the last line of the file which records the totals for each line type.
