Recently a 53,000 ton container vessel ran into Astrolabe reef 7km of one of the most popular coastal areas in New Zealand. Within days 350t of heavy fuel oil had leaked out and washed ashore. This is the worst oil disaster ever seen here. I wondered if autonomous filter feeders could be deployed to roam down stream and capture waste, package it into bags that floated and carry on. So it is bio organic compounds, with high temp super conductor mag flux drives (no clogging) solar & electrolytic powered with programmable random search areas and satelite coms. It could equally be deployed search for other flotsam and jetsam. FYI There are NO straight lines anywhere and no fillets.
