The material selection seems quite limited and I could see how to change the color.
So - wondering if the registered version has a larger material library?
And - can you change colours.
I could find a rubber material for instance.
How much of the ZW part display attribute effect the model in Artisan?
e.g I have a part semi transparent in ZW - does Artisan know this?
e.g. I have a part with a variety of face colours - yet is is obviously one part - does Artisan know it is one part or is it taking face clues from ZW?
I'd appreciate a bit more information on how it is integrated to ZW?

From the following figure, we can see that Artisan is consist of two working environment, including ZW3D CAD system and Artisan system.
1)ZW3D CAD includes model color and pre-defined material
2)Artisan system includes material, light, background and render
1.1Pre-defined model color
The pre-defined color is necessary for the definition of different faces in ZW3D, which is used for the further definition by Artisan. All the faces with the same color will be defined as a same part to add the material in Artisan. In another word, if you would like to define different face with different material, please add different color to different face.
If you would like to add the color or material to the part, please use Face Attribute or Texture Map, currently, Artisan doesn’t support texture attribute such as Checker board，Chrome, Granite, Marble, Wood.
After the setting of face or part color in ZW3D, achieve the Artisan Rendering environment by simply click Artisan from ZW3D menu. If Artisan is not well activated, the activation dialog will prompt each time you start Artisan with watermark, more information about Artisan, please check the Artisan built-in help or visit www.lightworksartisan.com。

The previous post is the information of Artisan.
For your questions, with the key of Artisan, it works as a trial verison with watermark, that is the only difference. Therefore, they are no bigger material library in the registered version.
When the file is transfered to Artisan, the color attrbute is the recommended connection for Artisan to define the materials and light settings, therefore, and you could define the color for shade or faces.
Transparency is not supported during the transfer to Artisan.
Multiple color of the faces could be recognized with different objects in Artisan.

There are two sides to this answer.
First of all, what aspects of the ZW3D model are passed across to Artisan? At part level, face colours, textures and transparency are used to segment the model into different materials.
Second. Once you are inside Artisan, what kind of materials do you have access to? On the materials page, you will see a list of material categories on the right hand side. Click on these to show different selections of materials in the bottom pane that can be used to drag onto the model, such as metals, plastics, glass etc.
You also have finishes and bumps. These types do not modify the colours/textures of the object. Dragging finishes on, changes the specular nature of the surface, such as shiny, dull, metallic, transparent, mirror. Bumps change and simulate bumpy patterns on the surface that give the appearance that a surface has real modelled bumps in it.
Use materials to get general starting points for the appearance of your model, then refine this with different combinations of finish and bump, or by editing colour and texture. You get instant feedback on your changes in the Realtime window, but clicking on the Progressive Render button at the bottom, gives you photoreal view of your model.
