1. Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT/GTO
2. ATI Radeon Mobility X1600
The main problem is a 'shadow drag& copy' which remains untill the screen is re-zoomed.
We have played around wit options. No luck.
Anyone out there that can simplify the choices?

First and foremost, ensure that you have the latest release graphics card drivers. Very important for new PCs because the supplied driver is often way out of date.
You don't mention the OS, which is also important. If the ATI card is on a Vista Laptop, it is possible that there is a short lag time as VX fights Vista for the GPU. If Vista is in the equation on either PC, try setting Vista to behave more like XP - in particular, switch off the Aero interface. Also, you will need to have as much RAM as possible. 4GB is, in an ideal world, the minimum for Vista to run CAD-CAM. XP is pretty good on just 2GB.
Via the nVidia Control Panel, select "Manage 3D Settings". You can either edit the Global values or (better) add vxmain.exe to the Program Settings so that you can have settings specifically for VX without affecting other programs.
Anisotropic filtering Use global setting (Off)
Anisotropic mip filter optimisation Use global setting (On)
Anisotropic sample optimisation Use global setting (On)
Antialiasing settings Application-controlled
Conformant texture clamp Use global setting (Use hardware)
Error reporting Use global setting (Off)
Extension limit Use global setting (Off)
Force mipmaps Use global setting (None)
Gamma correct antialiasing Off
Multiple graphics card acceleration Use global setting (Multiple display performance mode)
Negative LOD bias Use global setting (Clamp)
Texture Filtering Use global setting (High performance)
Threaded optimisation Use global setting (Auto)
Transparency antialiasing Supersampling
Trilinear optimisation Use global setting (On)
Triple buffering Use global setting (Off)
Vertical sync Use global setting (Force off)
I do not have any specific settings for the ATI X1600, which I believe has access to it's own on-board memory and is fully OpenGL compliant, making it a good card for VX. The Vertical Sync setting for the nVidia cards is important, so if there is a similar setting for the ATI, that might help.

Thanks for the feedback Chris.
These installations use XP Pro. The ATI was doing fine till a hard disc failure & re-installtion of all the drivers via HP website. HP & ATI insists that the drivers be loaded via the HP site. No can give me recommended settings though.
I will apply your suggestions & give feedback.
