Control Automation Inc. established and created ModelMATE, a full-featured 3D solid modeling package.
ModelMATE's first trade show at NCGA in March, 1987.
1989Started VX Join Development with NKK Corp(a Japanese Company).
1991Control Automation Aliased as Varimetrix and the first version of VX was released as an integrated CAD/CAM/CAE solution.
1994VX opened its Europe market. In the same year, it started the strategy alliance with Samsung Alliance.
1999Hybrid Modeling was added to make VX become the industry's first hybrid modeler.
2000VX allianced with SNK(SHIN NIPPON KOKI CO., LTD., a machine tool company) to provide a turn-key solution to manufacturers.
2001VX V5 built leadership in complex class A surfacing handing difficult shapes.
2002NASA Tech Briefs announced VX got the golden Winner & Product of the year.
2004VX restructured its product line as VX Mechanical, VX Modeler, VX Designer, VX Mold & Die, VX Machinist, VX End-to-End.
2007The new QuickMill machining tactic was fully integrated with CAD and could help mold-makers keep up with part and mold designs that change often.
2008Product designers benefited from a new filleting engine that helped them get more "style".
Mechanical designers benefited from motion simulation where animations could be created for studying moving parts in assemblies.
2009The expandable CAD/CAM product integrated a built-in 3D learning system, Show-n-Tell. These integrated 3D Books allowed users to learn CAD/CAM at their own pace.
2010VX was rebranded as ZW3D which includes 5 versions as: Standard(CAD), Professional(CAD+Mold), Premium(CAD+MOLD+CAM), 2X Machining and 3X Machining.
2011Direct Editing technology has been introduced to combine with the hybrid modeling technology.
2012New Ribbon Interface offered a better user experience.
2013Student version was available in 13 languages for free.
2014ZW3D overseas business achieved 50% sales growth covering 60 countries with 105 channel partners.
2015ZW3D broke the CAD/CAM limit with partner products.
