Dear Everyone:

For the sketch, there are two main improvement: Visible and interactive manager and Sketch block.

1. Visible and interactive data manager

Data manager carries history manager, assembly manger, view manager and visual manger, In ZW3D 2017, it supports to display data manger inside the sketch context. So you can access all the data through it. Here are the common related operations:

ü Toggle the visibility of geometry entities on the history manager.

ü Toggle the dimension visibility of history features.

ü Toggle the visibility of components on the assembly manager.

ü Change the graphic display effect through view and visualize manager.

2. Sketch Block

Sketch block collects a group of sketch entities and make them work as a single object under sketch context.

1) Block types

Ø Rigid block

² when a rigid block is inserted into a sketch, geometries of the block work as a whole to move and constraint, but can’t be changed.

²The constraints and dimensions inside the block belong to the block only and can’t be seen outside the block, and won’t be involved in the sketch solving.

² After inserted into a sketch, any entities of the rigid block can be picked to constrain with other geometries of the sketch, but beware of over-constraint of the block.

² Inside a sketch, you can insert multiple instances of one rigid block.

Ø Flexible block

² when a flexible block is inserted into a sketch, geometries of the block can be moved based on its freedom.

² The constraints and dimensions inside the block belong to the block only and can’t be seen outside the block, and will be involved in the sketch solving.

² Inside a sketch, you can insert only one flexible block.

²When the flexible block is referenced by different file, it will inserts as a rigid block, and you caninsert multiple instances of one rigid block.

2) Block Edit and Create

For Create Sketch block, you can choose common sketch geometry, text. But for reference geometry and picture can't be as the block element.

You can rename the block, edit it and define the insert points.

3)Customization Ready Sketch

After sketch blocks are defined inside a sketch, you can save these sketch blocks as Ready sketch into the Bundle.Z3 file, and then re-insert them again later.

Hello ZW Crew,
The new features are looking very nice!
Will the 2017 version allow me to arrange the tabs of the drawing areas?
Now they are in historic opened order, what is not very flexible.Sorry if this is not the right thread for this question.
Best regards
Patrick

Hi Patric,
Thanks for your commend. We have do a lot of work on this area. Also We will keep improving.
Also for arranging tabs for drawing, could you show more details to me? I am not quite clear what you want to do. Sorry.

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin,Sorry to be not so clear. I would like to change the tab order of the drawing tabs.
I.E. if i have some opened parts and one assembly, i want to sort it to have assembly first (left).
And parts ordered in a for me logical order and not in order of opened history.
Have a look at the screenshot.
Thank you for your attention.
Regards Patrick
