As the key link connecting designing and manufacturing, the CAM module is being constantly strengthened to help you bring high-quality products to the market quickly. In ZW3D 2020 Beta, many enhancements have been added to further increase the ease of use and machining efficiency.
Turning
In ZW3D 2020 Beta, turning operations become friendlier thanks to some significant improvements. For example, the turning tools and relevant adjustments can be previewed in Tool manager, so that you can set up tools in a simpler and more intuitive way.

What’s more, Groove Round Tool can now be applied to Roughing and Finishing operations, which further supplements ZW3D’s turning ability.

2X Milling
New features have also been added to 2X milling operations, to greatly enhance 2X machining efficiency. For example, Surface Engraving has been added to conduct lettering and removing burrs of parts. Multi-side toolpaths can be set to conduct finishing operation on planes. Zigzag toolpath is supported in Profile Cut operation to avoid extra lifting of the cutter, and thus enhance machining efficiency.

More operations such as Zigzag, Box, Contour and Ramp have been added to define Z step type. For example, by the new option “Relative to Top/Bottom”, you can machine several different pockets the same depth at the same time, saving you a lot of time in setting multiple operations and features.

3X Milling
The 3X milling module has also been optimized for more efficient 3X programming. 3D equidistant step size has been realized in Z level operation to deliver smoother surface and more accurate machining.

Zigzag toolpath is also available in Drive Curve operation, preventing extra links and air cutting to speed up machining. Last but not least, multi-core can be used to process batch calculation, significantly shortening the calculation time, especially for complicated tasks.
