In Italy, provinces have various infrastructure services including road works, urbanization and territorial planning, and renovation of school buildings.
The Territorial and Technological Infrastructure Service and specifically, the Viability Office of the Province of Rimini deal with topographic surveys to resolve problems related to road traffic, maintenance of facilities like bridges, restoration of landslides, etc. Besides, they handle piling, soil reinforcement, and the construction and design of primary urbanization systems such as sidewalks, cycle paths, and city-countryside roundabouts.

ZWCAD—The Flexible, Compatible, and Practical Eye-Catcher
When the technical and administrative officials of the Province of Rimini attended training workshops and seminars, they were attracted by ZWCAD, the reference CAD platform during the technical demonstrations given by Wetech System (an Italian ZWSOFT partner). Convinced by its technological strengths such as familiar commands and interfaces and full compatibility with common CAD files, the officials decided to test it out.
To their amazement, ZWCAD proved itself to be a flexible and easy-to-use tool, without unnecessary elements that might slow down their work. Also, both novice staff and experienced CAD technicians required minimal training and got the hang of it quickly. Together with the fact that ZWCAD costs a smaller portion of the public administration budget, they were happy to purchase and switch to it.

ZWCAD Provides Strong Technical Basis for Civil Projects
In different provincial offices, ZWCAD is used for drawing roads and related infrastructures as well as school buildings. The drawings usually contain a huge number of layers with pre-established codes, but engineers are able to deal with them efficiently with its powerful 2D and 3D functions.

According to the engineers, CAD drawings are the technical basis on which the civil projects are developed. By determining the specifications like dimensions in ZWCAD, they are able to carry out metric calculations, send the drawings to the administrations for approval, and prepare the necessary documents for outsourcing the projects to executing companies.
They praised, “The strong points of ZWCAD are the maximum compatibility with all CAD drawings created with other software as well as the capability of drawing on PDF files and recognizing their snap points. Thanks to ZWCAD, we can deliver civil engineering drawings much faster.”

50+ Projects with ZWCAD to Improve the Livability
From designing roads and related infrastructures to maintaining and renovating school buildings, the Province of Rimini has carried out over 50 projects with ZWCAD in recent years. As their main CAD tool, ZWCAD will keep helping the local government and engineers enhance the livability of the area.
