Customer Background
Based in Poland, LEAF PROJECT STUDIO, led by Piotr Reda, is a landscape architecture firm that specialises in designing spaces where nature, science and architecture coexist in harmony. LPS portfolio spans a wide range of projects — from parks and plazas to ecosystem-based urban strategies and nature-based solutions. The studio’s interdisciplinary approach connects ecological knowledge, engineering and design sensitivity to create public spaces that are resilient to the environmental challenges of the future.

Challenges & Pain Points
Designing multi-purpose public spaces and conducting dendrological analyses and research requires precision coordination and work with extensive data sets. The LPS team required CAD solution that could efficiently handle large files, integrate data with GIS, and facilitate seamless collaboration among specialists – from city planners and landscape architects through biologists to road designers. They also sought tools for creating and modifying land development drawings that would avoid system slowdowns and compatibility issues.

The Solution with ZWCAD
After testing various CAD tools, Leaf Project Studio team chose ZWCAD for its speed, flexibility, and affordability. The software supports every stage of their workflow — from analysis to detailed landscape plans.
Using parametric blocks and LISP scripts, the designers of LPS efficiently adapts and refines drawings, while the stability and compatibility of the software with reference files from other industries facilitates work in interdisciplinary teams..
One example of the application of ZWCAD software is PoPoPark project in Wrocław — a vibrant public green space connecting the Western Park with the Port Popowice housing estate. In this project, ZWCAD played a significant role in the preparation of detailed land development and tree inventory drawings, ensuring precision in every design layer.
“ZWCAD helps us create drawings for our design studies and perform essential analyses at every stage — from preliminary concepts to final design data,” says Piotr Reda, founder of Leaf Project Studio.
Results & Transformation
With ZWCAD, Leaf Project Studio team increased efficiency and precision in both creative and technical phases. The parametric tools allow for easy design modifications, while the system’s smooth handling of large files supports complex environmental and landscape analyses. As a result, projects are developed in a consistent and technically precise manner, which translates into the quality of their solutions.
Future Growth
As the demand for climate-responsive and community-oriented public spaces grows, Leaf Project Studio continues to improve their skills and work tools. ZWCAD remains to be important technological partner in designing the landscapes of tomorrow.
